Employee Volunteer Events

Packing events are a highly popular form of employee volunteer engagement. These events are great for team-building, service days, and corporate offsites! A Bridges staff member will work with you to determine the project budget, organize the supplies, provide a brief in-person Bridges overview to connect the work of your team with our mission and arrange pickup of finished items.

Corporate Sponsorships

Long-term, recurring financial commitments to the mission of tackling homelessness speaks volumes to the employees and surrounding community. Corporate sponsors don’t just invest money – they invest ideas, talent, and social support that we need to optimize efforts to tackle homelessness in Essex and Union Counties.

We make volunteer event planning easy so you can focus on impact and having fun.

Step 1: Determine your Event Budget
In addition to funding the cost of packing supplies, we ask that your company donates $50-$100 per event participant. Pricing details are below.

  • Brown Bag Lunch Packing (brown bag lunches) -  We have two options to assist with lunches are fantastic for our clients Sustainable and Fresh. You can purchase these items on your own or purchase ready-to-pack items through Bridge for your team to assemble as a group. For more details about this type of event, click here.

  • Hygiene Kit Packing (hygiene kits) - Hygiene Kits are always in demand. Kits typically contain sample or travel sizes of shampoo, deodorant, body lotion, shaving cream, razor, toothbrush, toothpaste, socks, and body cleansing wipes. You can collect your own or purchase ready-to-pack items through Bridge for your team to assemble as a group.  For more details about this type of event, click here.

  • Cold Weather Kit Packing (Seasonal: Oct-Feb) (cold weather packs) – These kits are designed to make living outside more bearable for those unable to find shelter. Kits typically contain hand warmers, foot warmers, lip balm, socks and a solar blanket. You can collect these items on your own or purchase ready-to-pack items through Bridge for your team to assemble as a group. For more details about this type of event, click here.

  • Organize a Clothing or Item Drive - Drives create great visibility of your internal mission to support Bridges and sparks that do-good energy throughout the company. Successful drives are planned around specific types of items (such as jacket drive, shoe drive, sock drive, etc), start and end dates, and internal communications of the drive goals to encourage participation. For more details about drives, click here.
